-No FOOD (except popcorn) or water
-No parachutes
-Device cannot be bigger than a shoebox
-Device should sustain true impact, and result in a perfectly uncracked egg

Information Gathering & Planning

WATCH THIS INSTRUCTION VIDEO HERE
2. If you are NOT DONE with yesterday's work, finish the packet using the links from Monday. Your packet is in the red bin.
3. If you are DONE with yesterday's work, open THIS LINK and write your name. You may write your name on a new line or next to someone else's name to choose them as a partner. You MUST join a group for a total of 2-3, otherwise no credit.
4. When you have a group, sit next to your partner(s). Choose ONE of you to open this
Eggsperiment Planning Document, make a copy, and SHARE IT with me (bgately@bostonpublicschools.org) and your partners.
5. Read the first page of the document OUT LOUD to your group, switching off readers, and watch the video.
6. Scroll through the document to see the different components, then write your names beneath the parts you want to complete.
7. Once all roles have been determined (everyone should have an equal amount of work), begin using Google to research and fill in the information. You may start bringing in materials as early as tomorrow.
8. By FRIDAY all of the document should be complete AND your device should be built. You are allowed 7 materials, and can use no more than 10 pieces of any one material. We will do "the drop" on Monday.

2. Watch and complete the video titled "Calculating Speed". You will have to watch and answer questions, but no notes.
3. Watch and complete the video titled "Speed vs. Velocity". You will have to write a few notes, and answer questions. Show. Ms. Gately when you are finished with both videos.
4. Use this youtube video to complete the graphing activity below (#6). If you want to try the activity first, go ahead. But if you get stuck on how to graph, use this video to help you. You may skip ahead or go back as needed. I would recommend watching from the beginning, because the most useful information is at the start. Position- Time Graph Youtube video
5. Log onto www.fossweb.com --> Username and password = gatelyscience
6. Under the "Multimedia" tab click on "Motion Stories: Graph a Story" and complete the activity. Click on the "?" in the top right corner to help you set up your table. Drag the appropriate labels into each top box. Then create a graph that represents the position of the person at each point in the story. Click "Check Me" whenever you feel to see how you are doing. Show Ms. Gately when you are done- do NOT close out before you show her!!
7. Practice your speed math with this Speed math challenge --> When finished, enter your name and show Ms. Gately your certificate!
8. Complete the Chromebook Check above.
